These past 3 eps have been sensational

Youtube Addict • 12 months ago

I knew it! I knew they would whitewash the dumb parents and the idiot brother! I’m now curious how the Chinese novel fans would react to this episode.

First of all, for anyone who is curious what “the Riverside of Wang Chuan” is all about, according to Baidu encyclopaedia:

“In Chinese myths and legends, after death, people have to pass through the gate of ghosts, pass through Huangquan Road, and between Huangquan Road and Hades, the Wangchuan River (Nai River) is used as the boundary.”

Back to my gripe for this episode! I’m just so miffed about how they changed the narrative for the “healing outcome”. In the novel, the doctors have 60-70% chance of success for SH while the probable mortality rate for QH is only 30%. What gets on everyone’s nerves in the novel is the attitude of SH’s parents, well mostly his mum. She was actually worried if they make the go-ahead decision, it would hurt her younger son’s feelings. **I’m not joking.. that was how ridiculous she is!

Then it was followed by a retort from the not-completely-brainless father saying, if QH is upset, so be it, saving SH has the higher priority!

Above all, the d0ucheb4g of a brother was never willing to give his immortal bone to SH in the first place. He was just using a passive aggressive method to tell his parents: if they want the bone, they would have to come and take it from him, he would not object.

What’s worse, he was the one who hinted to his dying brother that it was regretful that he couldn’t save him and if only his brother had two supreme bones, he would be invincible, no one would dare to go against him, thus he could protect their parents. ** seriously.. even the dumbest person would understand this insinuation.

So yeah.. that was the ugly truth that the donghua (the production studio) was not eager to portray. What a shame!

nice explanation, however your comment seems to justify the reason this show choose to go in another direction from the novel as his parents dont seem as dumb and his brother more caring.... dont see an issue and agree with the studios decision as the shows portrayal seems more realist this way at least with the parents.... however if in the future his brothers fcked up attitude from the novel plays a big roll, it would be hard to explain when that time comes around in the show..... but as of rn his brother is his savior by marking him so the parents could find him and bring him back for treatment..... i heard a lot about how stupid his parents were and ridiculous the brother is so if the changes make the show better (and seems like it has) then so be it

I see where you’re coming from but i doubt you will see any fcked-up attitude in the future. Since they choose to go down this path, then the passive antagonistic attitude shown by his brother when they meet again most likely will not happen either. It doesn’t change any of the plots per se because QH’s character is rather insignificant anyway but it does change the momentum and intensity of future reunion because in the novel QH always chooses to stand on the opposite side and even tries to kill SH who is in disguise unknowingly.

Actually no, it does affect the legitimacy of certain actions by SH because QH refuses to believe their grandpa was taken captive and banished by the Qin clan. QH does nothing all those years where he could have been the one who rescues their grandpa. This is where the novel clearly marks the difference between the two brothers. All future encounters between SH and grandpa also stand out from those moments he spent with his parents. It’s impossible not to root for the brash and ballsy grandpa-(eldest)grandson duo.

i can understand that...i can still see it play out either way..... perhaps they are hiding it deeper.... it will be interesting to see how they pull it off

if you know so much do you know in which episode SH will recover and how, cuz this shit is getting on my nerves, he collected all the treasures and bullshit but now he is a close to being a cripple.

Youtube Addict • 12 months ago

Lol! He’s not close to being a cripple, he’s dying. The donghua actually is a bit ambiguous with this whole bronze flower curse. The thing that the baddie hurled at SH before he disintegrated is a type of curse that constantly eats away his life force. Willow God did not cure the curse. It was just a willow branch she gave SH before she left so it does not have her full power.

In the novel, the parents give SH the drop of elixir he initially gave QH but the jerk refused so they kept it on his behalf. Now, it goes back to SH. As you can see in the next episode preview, subordinates from Shi Kingdom and the Stone Villagers will come bringing all kinds of medicines and herbs. But he still dies in the end. He was buried and resurrected after more than a year. At the end of the preview, you can see a small little sparrow flying in the icy landscape, that’s an immortal bird arranged by Willow God to guard over SH. It’s this bird that brings over some undying grass seeds to grow on his tomb, they prevent his body from decaying. If you remember, SH’s supreme bone’s ability was actually called reincarnation technique and although he has given it away to his brother, he already carved the supreme bone runes onto his bones some episodes back so there was no loss. All these help to resurrect him in the end.

So it means that SH supreme bone in it's perfect form now even if it's being retracted for the second time the carved runes are in his body and can always regenerate them as long as his body doesn't dissipate, despite his brother having his own supreme bone and also gets SH damage Supreme Bone it wont be the same as his body structure to reform the Supreme bone to it's perfect form. QH, Well I also agree of you that he really give me the vibe of brother who had those inferiority complex towards SH and once QH reach higher cultivation than his brother and once SH revive still find himself can't reach his brothers strength despite having a huge difference level of cultivation thinking SH lost his Supreme Bone well our dude SH never even relied to his supreme Bone defeating 6 false gods higher than his cultivation only used it until the last god what I'm excited is When do we see our Yue Chan, Huo Ling'er and Yun Xi since this 2 goddesses( Ling'er, Yunxi)are in the upper Realm and our willow GOD is in a journey to the void realm our only available goddess are Yue Chan in the Underworld Realm can assist SH can't wait for the next episode.

A bit more explanation on the supreme bone: it will regrow again as long as there’s supreme blood nourishing it. This supreme blood is different from the normal blood. It has amazing power although it doesn’t give any supreme skills but it strengthens the body.

When SH was robbed off his supreme bone by Shi Yi’s mum, she also removed quite a lot of the supreme blood, that directly lead to him almost dying. Now when SH gives his second supreme bone to QH, he didn’t give any supreme blood because QH already has some due to the other bone that he received. Each supreme bone gives a different skill/technique. If he regrows a third supreme bone, then he’ll get a third skill but unfortunately it didn’t happen (I will not spoil too much for you). He only manages to carve the second supreme bone skill onto his bones, the first skill was lost, well can’t blame him.. he couldn’t have done that as a baby.

I can tell you one more spoiler regarding the supreme blood:the tiny bit of supreme blood that remains in his body is the main reason why he can resurrect because it fights off the curse even when he’s already dead. The supreme blood doesn’t die. So together with the reincarnation technique that is now carved onto his bones and all the herbs and medicine they gave him before his death, plus the undying grass, it brings his dead body to life. But had his supreme blood not removed the curse, he would not have woken up.

And yes, QH relies too much on his two supreme bones to the extent he doesn’t even think it’s necessary to acquire new skills because he thinks they are enough for him to be invincible. Of course our boi SH is the exact opposite and that’s what makes him so strong because he never stops upgrading himself pushing past his limits every time.

As for the upper realm reunion with all his waifus, and his grandpa, it will still take awhile. SH’s first priority is always his family, therefore searching for his grandpa is his first mission.

Wow this show has become very addictive I want MORE

Oahn • 11 months ago

I know it'll probably be explained in a few episodes, but can anyone enlighten me on what that grey hair form is all about? Is that another version of him?

TheyoungYeezus • 11 months ago

I think the first time it was said that it was the supreme bone manifesting a physical form and the second time his hair changed color cause he was burning his blood essence

I feel like she’s more of an adoptive mother than a wife to him. She practically raised him along with the stone village people.
